"What is the AGSA’s vacation programme?

The AGSA hosts university students for two weeks in the university recess, during which the students are exposed to the organisation and the work that we do. The students are allocated to the different business units in the AGSA, where they join different audit teams at the clients. The students get to gain hands-on experience that will prepare them for their future in auditing, specifically auditing in the public sector.

Who can apply?

All second year, third year and CTA students from Saica-accredited universities as well as AGSA bursary holders and Thuthuka students.

When does it take place?

The programme runs during the June/July and November/December university holidays.

What are the benefits?

- Get first-hand exposure to the supreme audit institution and what it is like serving Saica auditing articles with the AGSA.
- Gain hands-on experience in the auditing of the public sector.
-  Stand a chance to be selected as one of our trainee auditors in the following year.
- Get first-hand experience of being at the audit client with the audit team.
- Get to speak to qualified young CAs(SA) employed by the AGSA and hear their inspiring stories.

What are the selection criteria?

- South African citizens with a valid South African ID.
- Currently completing second year, third year or CTA, studying towards the CA(SA) qualification.
- Studying at a Saica-accredited university.
- Not currently under a training contract with another firm.
