Agricultural Research Council (ARC)

Key Performance Areas:

 Conducting independent research on climate variability/change and agriculture

 Preparing winning project proposals in collaboration with other scientists for submission to research funders

 Conducting technology transfer activities related to climate variability/change in the agricultural sector

 Contributing towards the development and updating of climate services for the agricultural sector

 Publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals, newsletters, conference proceedings, and other media.

Requirements:

 PhD in Agrometeorology /Meteorology/Agriculture

 Proven research background in agriculture- and climate-related disciplines

 Proven ability to conduct and supervise climate variability/change research

 Proficiency in R, C/C++, or other scientific programming language

 Good publication record in climate variability/change research

 Track record of attracting externally-funded research projects

 Ability to work with communities

 Willingness to travel away from home for intermediate periods

 Good communication skills (written and verbal)

 Valid driver’s license (code 08/EB).
